Gatljusen var få och det var en uplevelse att från cykeltaxins baksäte färdas ljudlöst förbi slitna kolonialhus, matförsäljare och Ho Chi Minhs mausoleum. Fullt med cykeltrafik intill, men man hörde och såg dem knappt – däremot kände man stans olika dofter på väg tillbaks till mitt enkla lilla hotell: “Cockroach Plaza.”
